BHI is growing! In order to support our expanding portfolio of design-build projects, we are seeking an ambitious and compassionate Structural Engineering Intern to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in engineering projects in countries including Haiti, Peru, and Nigeria. The internship will be for the Spring or Summer semester.

In the role of an Structural Engineering Intern, the qualified candidate will support and collaborate closely with the Project Engineer in the following capacities:

• Responsible for structural analysis, steel and concrete design, detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems.
• Coordination of design work with in-house staff as well as other design professionals including Architects and other Engineering disciplines.
• Preparation of construction documents within a BIM environment.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related fields with focus in Structural Engineering
• Coursework in structural analysis, steel design and reinforced concrete design
• Excellent academic record
• Experience using AutoCad or Revit is helpful but not required
• Experience using ETABS, SAP2000 or other structural analysis software is helpful but not required
• Well organized, detail oriented and able to multitask
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with diverse individuals across multi-cultural teams
• Interest in current and emerging issues in global health or international development

Location:  The Structural Engineering Intern will be based at the BHI office in Beverly, Massachusetts.

Compensation:  Competitive base salary commensurate with experience.
