BHI Wins DroneDeploy Community & Workforce Development Award

Gerard Georges and Jaresiah Desrosiers of Build Health International accept the DroneDeploy Award for Community & Workforce Development

BHI Director of Architecture Gerard Georges gave a keynote speech at the 2023 DroneDeploy Conference, “Building a Compassionate World” speaking about the importance of high-quality, dignified healthcare infrastructure worldwide, the application of drone Reality Capture in this work, and his background in Haiti and the Democratic Republic of the Congo that led him to doing this building.

At the end of the night, Gerard and BHI Senior Project Manager Jaresiah Desrosiers accepted the 2023 DroneDeploy Award for Community & Workforce Development. “This award honors companies that are using reality capture data to broaden their labor force and improve their community.”

With DroneDeploy Reality Capture, BHI has been doing just that – using drones and DroneDeploy technology for six years to complete site assessments and gather crucial information such as site topography, drainage, building-space interaction to create base design and master plans accurately and efficiently, as well as create 3D models of buildings and capture aerial photographs for communications and construction updates. In July, several Haiti-based team members received training on drone flights and the DroneDeploy platform. BHI technician Abijah Offré, who recently traveled from Haiti to the Maternal Center of Excellence job site in Kono, Sierra Leone, has been using DroneDeploy and enthusiastically training others.

BHI is honored to receive this award and feels fortunate for the ongoing partnership with DroneDeploy.org
