BHI’s Abijah Offré is an expert at drone flights and technology – Kono, Sierra Leone
BHI partner DroneDeploy recently featured the organization in blog article “Unlocking healthcare excellence: How drone data empowers BHI.” The article discusses how drone technology and reality capture “has played a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency of BHI’s operations.” For example, DroneDeploy’s elevation and 3D viewer tools allowed BHI to quantify shade projections estimates for the final panel layout of the recent solar expansion at BHI’s first and largest project, Hôpital Universitaire de Mirebalais in central Haiti. Because of the extreme heat in Haiti in summer months, it was much safer – as well as more efficient and accurate – to have a drone fly the roof than a team member inspect it.
BHI Information Technology Technician Abijah Offré is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about drone flights, DroneDeploy technology, and reality capture. He was trained and practiced in his home country of Haiti and is currently working at the Maternal Center of Excellence project in Sierra Leone, “imparting his knowledge and expertise to train BHI’s construction teams working on various healthcare projects with several new projects in Sierra Leone slated to begin next year.”
