Build Health International
Project Introduction
BHI installed a generator and accompanying electrical plumbing system at the Centre de Santé Sacré-Cœur in Thiotte, Haiti. In this project phase, the team also executed several key building improvements to ensure uninterrupted care for the patients through reliable energy and clean water.
In collaboration with 121 Consulting, BHI provided support to install 35 solar panels at the clinic, effectively covering 95% of the clinic's operations and easing reliance on diesel-power.

Project Description
CSST provides primary, dental, and surgical care to a catchment area of over 160,000 in rural Southern Haiti. Thiotte, Haiti, where CSST is located, does not have access to grid power. BHI’s design and installation of a generator and electrical system enabled the facility to have reliable power and clean water for the first time in five years. This improvement enabled Haiti Medical Mission of Wisconsin and CSST to accelerate healthcare provision and medical training in a highly remote mountainous region of Haiti.
The introduction of a generator laid the groundwork for the installation of 35 solar panels, which will cover 95% of the clinic's operational energy needs. BHI provided project management support while 121 Consulting covered procurement and on-the-ground installation.
