Build Health International

Project Introduction

Following the ravaging ebola virus outbreak in West Africa from 2014-2016, it was clear that the capacity and resiliency of healthcare infrastructure was imperative to not only the management of disease outbreaks, but also the uninterrupted delivery of essential health services during disease outbreaks. Partners in Health became determined to support the development of a new academic medical center in Liberia, and BHI provided the initial research regarding programming and budgeting for the facility. These contributions informed the hospital’s clinical program and high-level master planning, and today the facility is being designed by Boston-based firm Medical Architecture.
